Kyle Smith Possum - Pearl, IL

Kyle Smith Possum received a gift from my Buddie from Harrisonburg,VA for hunting with me and it was a Natures Voice Game Call. On 11/27/10 my Buddie came up to hang out with me and go hunting i had got him into hunting. I would hunt my places, and he would hunt at his when he didn't have time to come up to mine since he was in collage. this time he came up he told me bout a big buck that always came out every time he was there at the same time. I figured it was just a small 8 or 10 pt. so I figured what the heck I'll give it a shot since they was farming at my favorite spot. so the next morning we headed down to his farm. i had hung him a stand earlier in the season but there was no room for a double so we sat on a pond levee backed into a cedar tree. It took bout 35 minutes to start breaking day it was cold crisp and silent out. Then we seen 6 turkeys they worked bye us in the corn it was to the left of us 40 yards to the edge of the corn field. In front was the dry drain creek for the pond in the narrowing of the timber, to the right was timber for about 75 yards there was a pasture, behind us was the pond about the size of the dirt spot on a baseball field all surrounded by timber we was on a perfect pinch point and natural crossing. It was 7:15 a.m. when he said "anytime hell come out" 2 minutes later he came out with a hott doe I watched him for 10 to 15 minutes let him do his thing. When my Buddie said "now he will turn and go back in the other woods he came out of maybe" that's when I told him I got a surprise for him & pulled the Natures Voice Call out, hit the Timber Ghost Buck & Doe Grunter twice, he threw his head up and walked fast paced toward us leaving his hot doe behind. He got within 70 yards in front of us circling checkin the wind, but it was going over him and up. Thanks to the morning winds, he stopped and was searching for the doe that was supposed to be there I hit it once more softly he pin pointed it, that time and came into the left side of me, one shooting hole 34 yards size of a milk jug. I centered my 30 and 40 yard pins on his lungs and softly touched her off. He made a high jump and a lunge then he made it about 45 yards and piled up. He was officially scored at 178 7/8 15 pt.
